This Privacy Statement is effective as of September 30, 2009. Note that this Statement may be updated from time to time by Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, Inc. (“we”, “our” or “us”). You may not receive any notice of any updates made to this Privacy Statement after the date set forth above. Therefore, we recommend that you review this Privacy Statement periodically.
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. We recognize that in the course of accessing or using www.habitatutah.org (the “Site”) which may include making an online donation to or registering to volunteer with us, you may provide us with personal or private information. To better protect your privacy, we offer the following disclosure to explain: (1) what kind of information is collected from you; (2) how it is used; (3) when it is shared with others; and (4) how to contact us if you have any privacy concerns.

If you make a donation to or register to volunteer with Habitat online, we will request that you provide us with certain personal or private information, and that information will be used by us on a limited basis as further described in this Privacy Statement. The personal information that we obtain from or regarding individual donors or volunteers is not provided by us to unrelated third parties except as expressly described in this Privacy Statement.
Information We Collect:
In connection with any online donation, the following information is collected from the donor:
- Full Name
- Billing Address
- Shipping Address (if different from Billing Address)
- Email Address
- Phone Number(s)
- Payment Information (e.g., credit/debit card information), which may include CCV number
In connection with any volunteer registration, the following information is collected from the volunteer:
- Full Name
- Mailing Address
- Email Address
- Phone Number(s)
Of course, if you contact us through the Site with a question or comment, you may be asked to provide or our server may automatically collect certain limited information from you, including your name and contact information such as an email address, so we can respond to you.
How We Use the Information We Collect:
If you make an online donation to us, the information you share with us is used by us to process your donation and the payment made in respect of that donation. Your information will be added to our donor database, and your contact information may be added to our recipient list for informational or promotional communications such as email newsletters. As a donor, your information will be used for the purposes described above only, and for no other purposes.
If you register online to volunteer with us, the information you share with us will be entered into our volunteer database and used to contact you regarding potential construction and non-construction related opportunities with Habitat. Your contact information may also be added to our recipient list for informational or promotional communications such as email newsletters. As a volunteer, your information will be used for the purposes described above only, and for no other purposes.
If at any time you contact us with a question or comment that requests or collects information or otherwise requires a response from us, we will contact you using the information provided or collected in order to respond to your question or comment, including to provide any information or response you may request or require.
When Your Information is Shared with Others:
Your personal or private information is regarded by us as confidential, and will not be used or disclosed by us other than on a limited basis as expressly described in this Privacy Statement. Specifically, we will not sell or provide your personal or private information, including your address or phone number(s), to any company, person, organization or concern without your knowledge and consent.
Your Privacy Rights on the Site:
You may refuse to provide your personal or private information to us through www.habitatutah.org and still use the Site for purposes other than making donations or registering to volunteer online. For instance, you may access all of the content available on the Site, which will allow you to learn more about Habitat and its programs and services. If you would like to donate or register to volunteer, you may always contact us directly through other means, including by phone or visiting our office, in lieu of providing information through the Site. However, if you want to make a donation or register to volunteer through the Site, you will need to provide us with the information described above.
When you donate or register to volunteer with Habitat, you may begin to receive information or promotional communications from us such as email newsletters, event notices, fundraising solicitations or the like. Our supporters generally find this type of information useful. If you do not want to receive these communications, you have the opportunity, at any time, to opt-out. You may opt-out by clicking “SafeUnsubscribe” at the bottom of any email communication, or by emailing us at info@habitatutah.org or calling us directly at (435) 658-1400 to request that you be opted-out of these communications.
If you would like to update any personal information that may be on file with us (for instance, in any prior donation or volunteer registration), please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do reserve the right to disclose your personal information as may be required by law or judicial process, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights. These types of requirements may include requirements in connection with any judicial proceeding, or any court order or legal process served on Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, Inc.
